Read each scripture passage in the translation your church uses. These reflections are original Mosaic commentary, not a Bible translation.
SESSION 1 · Jeremiah 29:7
Seek the good of the place where you live. Begin with conversations led by community members rather than assumptions made for them.
What do neighbors say they need? What is already working?
Hold five listening conversations. Ask permission to take notes. Record themes without names or sensitive personal details.
SESSION 2 · Luke 14:28–30
Count the cost of money, time, space, supervision, and continuity. Map existing organizations and avoid duplicating a service that could benefit from partnership.
Who already serves this need well? What can our church sustain?
List partners, staff hours, volunteer capacity, space, transport, required permissions, and a maximum pilot budget.
SESSION 3 · Micah 6:8
Justice, kindness, and humility should shape how the program works. Define participant voice, safeguarding, referral limits, and access before recruitment.
Who could be excluded by our design? Who has decision-making power?
Write the pilot goal, eligibility, consent process, safeguarding lead, referral partners, and a six-week schedule.
SESSION 4 · James 1:19
Listening continues after launch. Invite feedback and make it easy to decline participation without losing other support.
What helped? What caused friction? Should we continue?
Collect anonymous feedback where possible. Compare outcomes to the original goal. Decide to continue, change, partner, or close responsibly.
